Dr Jennifer Reid holds a PhD in Sociology and is an accomplished academic, specialising in qualitative research with a focus on Māori health and wellbeing in New Zealand society. She is expert in research, analysis, evaluations, writing and editing (academic and organisational), liaising with organisations, stakeholders, participants and vested parties. Jennifer is an experienced and gifted interviewer, and familiar with a broad cross-section of society. Jennifer has also lectured at the University of Canterbury on the Treaty of Waitangi, the impact of colonial and neo-colonial policies on New Zealand race-relations; developed and implemented tutorial programmes to enhance rates of retention and completion rates for Māori, Pasifika and minority students; facilitated access to learning, disability resources and assisted in the reintegration of Māori from the Criminal Justice System into New Zealand society.
